FIRST TIME FEEDING INSTRUCTIONS

Switching to a plant-protein based product must be done gradually. There are two ways to switch:

Option 1: gradually shifting from the old product to the new - start by mixing the old food (to which your pet is already accustomed) with the new plant-protein based kibble at 1:4 ratio:

1 part plant-based kibble : 4 parts old product

Then during the following two-weeks gradually increase the proportion of plant-protein based product. At the end of the second week you should not be adding the old product.

Option 2: adding some extras - start by mixing 1 teaspoon of flaked nutritional yeast, margarine, or vegetable oil to each cup of the plant-based product.

Then during the following two-weeks gradually reduce nutritional yeast, margarine, or vegetable oil to zero. Pets adapt to the new plant-protein based product with no added flavor after 1-2 weeks.

MOIST KIBBLE

To increase your dog's hydration, to improve digestion and urinary function it is best to add water to dry kibble; after adding water the kibble expands in size, becomes mushy and is better absorbed

• Start by using a lower amount of dry food (see 'moist food' column below)

• Add water 1:1 ratio (1 part kibble to 1 part water)

• Let stand for 30-60 min

• Add several dry kibbles to help scrape plaque off the teeth

Note: Check and brush your dog’s teeth regularly

NUTRITIONAL YEAST FOR PICKY DOGS

For picky pets add some nutritional yeast (sold separately). Sprinkling nutritional yeast makes the food taste even more cheesy.

for 1 cup of dry kibble, sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of nutritional yeast

ADULT DOGS

Feed dry kibble as is, or mix with water, almond milk or broth to make affordable moist food (see moist kibble section).

PUPPIES

Puppies can be started on Gourmet Fondue Delicious Cheese Flavor as early as they begin to nibble at solid foods (usually 3 to 4 weeks of age). Until 6 months of age, pups should be fed all of the moistened dog food they will consume at intervals throughout the day.

Evolution Cat-Dog Foods should always be tightly sealed and even when they are put in storage bins they should be kept in their original bags with clips to prevent moisture and air damage!
