WHAT WE DO FOR FLEAS, TICKS AND HEART WORM, MANGE, FUNGAL INFESTATIONS OF SKIN, ORAL INFALMATION, TOOTH INFECTION, URINARY TRACT INFECTION & OTHER BIO-TECH NUTRIENT PROCEDURES WITH OR WITHOUT DRUGS OR CHEMICALS BY Eric Weisman, Dr. of Health Sciences In this article, Eric Weisman explains some of the bio-tech nutrient procedures he has developed and exactly what he has done in similar or the same type of case with animals that have come to our rescue operation. These procedures have been successful in most cases, but not all. We offer these procedures in consultations with other people that have sick animals or human illnesses. We sell virtually all of the products described in these procedures at a substantial discount. Most of the bio-technical products we sell are labeled and designed for human consumption. Ingredients Eric Weisman uses are mostly designed for human consumption, although he has used them on Dogs, Cats and sometimes Ferrets for 20 years. According to current law, these procedures can not be referred to as a diagnosis, cure, treatment or prevention for any disease. These procedures have not been evaluated by the FDA although Eric Weisman has requested University of Minnesota evaluation. Eric Weisman is not a practicing veterinarian or physician. These procedures are not medical, veterinary or nutrition related in nature. Eric Weisman helps people with their own illnesses and those of their pets daily at 651-221-9056
1...The Compound I Use for Fleas, Ticks & Heart Worm, Mange, Fungal Infections of the Skin
2...The Compound I Use For Infection and or Inflammation of the Oral Region & Gums 3...Periodontal Disease or Inflamation of the Gum Tissue around the Teeth including Infected Teeth and Gingivitis from my perspective 4...What We Do In Cases of Urinary Tract Infection, Cleaning Surfaces, Litter Boxes, etc. to prevent For the last twenty years I have used combinations of human grade vitamins, herbs, nutracueticals and proteins to help reduce or eliminate need for drug - chemical treatments in Dogs, Cats and Ferrets. The first procedure I started was an alternative for flea, tick and heart worm medication. Again, I started this procedure 20 years ago to reduce drug and chemical contamination in my Dogs, Cats and Ferrets and hopefully reduce their risk of associated cancers and other forms of organ failure that could result from prolonged drug and chemical exposure related to heart worm medication and surface parasite chemical poisons. I find the idea of putting a toxic substance in or on any human or non human animal to be offensive, especially if I think there is a non-toxic way to accomplish the same benefit. Our Evolution Diet Pet Foods have always been designed with absolutely no steroid growth hormone, antibiotic or any other drug content and an absolute minimum chemical content. I wanted to compliment that strategy with respect to prevention and treatment of illness. I knew I would have to study the responses of many Dogs, Cats and Ferrets over many years to determine if my procedures would work at all. Obviously, I was not sure it would work back in the beginning in 1989. My goals were to 1. Increase Dog, Cat and Ferret Life Expectancy 2. Increase their quality of life as they aged 3. Reduce their dependency on Drugs and Chemicals 4. Reduce their risk of fleas, ticks and heart worm. I thought reducing their Drug and Chemical Contamination would be a great way to start. I also wanted to use a combination of low cost over-the-counter supplements that would improve the immunity of our Rescue Animals while decreasing our veterinary costs and associated drug and chemical use complications. Fleas, Ticks and Heart worm are important problems that can afflict any Dog, Cat or Ferret. Fleas and Ticks can cause various nuisance problems of scratching and complications such as surface fungal and bacterial infections that can not only injure your pet, but also be transferred to other pets and humans. Cats may carry blood parasites (Hemobartonella felis) without any signs or symptoms at all and appear perfectly normal, but if the cat becomes stressed, an overt clinical infestation may ensue. Parasite episodes may be vary in length, but may last up to one month. Your Cat may become listless and lethargic and fever my become present. Cats may become anemic from Hemobartonella parasites that alter the Red Blood Cell outer sheath or membrane causing fragility and destruction. This reduces the Red Blood Cell Concentration in the blood which can lead to serious organ damage of the heart and brain and result in markedly decreased life expectancy. In the Dog, the Hembarrtonella canis parasite may be seen with fever, enlargement of the spleen, anemia and in very severe rare cases liver involvement with excessive bilirubin in the blood or icterus (jaundice or yellowing of the skin and gums). By reviewing the literature of other scientists in this area and finding ways to bolster the immune system while making Dog, Cat and Ferret Body Odor more offensive to parasites without making them offensive to humans was the other part of my goal. Only one or two supplements that I have used over the past 20 years have had some debate in the veterinary community, but I have found them to be completely safe when used in the small amounts I use and with the additional supplements I combined them with to inhibit their negative effects. For example, I found that Garlic can be used in small amounts when combined with a similar Vitamin C on a daily basis for many, many years with absolutely no negative ramifications to the Red Blood Cells. Raw shredded Garlic provides the best effect. I found that Cayenne Pepper and Curry Powder could be used indefinitely in small amounts with Dogs, Cats and Ferrets with no negative ramifications that I or the veterinarians I have used for blood testing including toxicology could detect. I use high doses of vitamin C and B 50 complex and lemon juice together with the above usually on a daily basis and have done so for about twenty years with all of the Dogs, Cats and Ferrets that have come to our rescue and we have not had one diagnosed case of Heart worm in blood work or autopsy reports in that entire period. The supplements and amounts I started using are in my daily regime are as follows. This is the amount I use for every 10 - 20 lb of pets I feed. I use this mix in both the dry and moist foods every day for all of our rescue pets except the occasional sick animal. Compound FTH 1/8 level teaspoon Vitamin C Powder, 1/8 level teaspoon Vitamin B 50 Powder, 1/8 level teaspoon Vitamin E Powder or Liquid, 1/16 level teaspoon Garlic Powder or Raw Shreded Garlic(optional although I have used it with dogs, cats and ferrets for about 20 years with no ill side effects), 1/16 level teaspoon of Cayenne Pepper 1/16 level teaspoon Curry Powder, 1/2 level teaspoon Fresh (Fresh is best and Fresh Organic is better yet)or Reconstituted Lemon Juice 1/2 level teaspoon Fresh Ground Flax Seed or Frozen Flax Oil per 10 lb – 20 lb body weight of Dogs, Cats or Ferrets. This compound can be made into a large batch and stored in the freezer until the respective amount is needed for mixing in with the dry or moist Evolution Diet Pet Food daily. By premixing this compound, I can remove 1 heaping teaspoon per 10 – 20 lb of Cat(s), Dog or Ferret weight and mix it in with our Evolution Diet Dry Gourmet Kibble or Canned Moist Vegetable Stew or Canned Moist Gourmet Entrée Pet Foods . This saves us time when mixing our food each day for our Dogs, Cats and Ferrets (we do not always have rescue Ferrets because they are not as frequently abandoned as Dogs and Cats). If we have a 3.5 lb Ferret, we use about ½ - 1 level teaspoon of this compound per 3.5 pounds of Ferret weight. On a 20 pound Dog we might use 1 to 1.5 heaping teaspoons of this compound. With two 10 lb Cats, we might use 1 -1.5 heaping teaspoons full of this compound mixed with any Evolution Diet Dry Kibble, Moistened Dry Kibble or Moist Canned Food. With a 60 lb Dog we might use 2 heaping teaspoons of Compound FTH. With a 100 lb Dog, we use 3 heaping teaspoons of Compound FTH mixed in with food per day. With a 150 lb Dog 5 heaping teaspoons of FTH per day. What do I do with a Cat that does not like the taste of Compound FTH in it's food? I mix Evolution Diet Pet Food with a little ground Tuna or Cheese (sorry vegans) that the Cat likes with the food and Compound FTH for about 5 days to 2 weeks. I slowly remove the flavor enhancement and soon the Cat likes the food with Compound FTH with no Tuna or Cheese added. *There are absolutely no diagnosed cases of Heart Worm in any of the Cats, Dogs or Ferrets that have come to our rescue and have used Evolution Diet in 20 Years. I have used standard physical, blood, toxicology biopsy, x-ray and autopsy analysis. I have only had one case of fleas that came from a new rescue animal at our center in 20 years of operation. We can not guarantee that your pet will not get these diseases if they are eating Evolution Diet. We will give you free information regarding herbs and vitamins we use with Evolution Diet to help pets regarding our food and limited conditions. Evolution Diet is not a cure, treatment, diagnosis or prevention by itself for any disease. All statements above have not been evaluated by the FDA. Eric Weisman is not a practicing veterinarian or physician. We can not guarantee that dogs, cats or ferrets will live longer or healthier eating Evolution Diet Pet Foods. We have seen Evolution Diet Dogs of all size breeds live in good health up to over their 19th Yr., Cats in good health up to over their 21st Yr. and Ferrets living into their 10th Yr. and 1 documented Ferret we had lived to 13.5 Yr. The reality is that many veterinarians support cruel animal factory farm practices by promoting and selling pet foods that contain steroid, antibiotic laden ingredients coming from the most brutal operations. Virtually every pet food in veterinary offices is made with ingredients contaminated with steroids, antibiotics and other drugs and chemicals. Some veterinarians, but not all, do not like healthy Evolution Diet Pet Foods. Why? People using Evolution Diet have much healthier pets. Veterinarians make much less money on healthy pets. Unfortunately, some veterinarians are more concerned about their incomes then they are about your pet's health. Veterinarians have a lot of training in the use of drugs, but almost no formal training in nutrition. Mange Mange is a skin disease of dogs, cats horses, sheep and cattle caused by a failure of the immune system in conjunction with parasitic mites. Skin lesions form in patches where hair loss, inflamtion and small pus filled lesions with offensive odor may be present. These are the typical signs of mange. In addition to Compound FTH internally, I use a skin spray that I make up in may be with 20 parts reconstituted lemon juice in a bottle or fresh raw lemon juice together with 1 part tea tree oil. I spray this all over the affected animal (except the in the mouth and eyes) and then rub it into the coat once per day until the mange lesions and odor disappear. I use this compound together with Compound FTH internally. I always continue to use Compound FTH daily, even though the mange disappears. Do not overdose on Compound FTH. We do not sell any human supplements in conjunction with any of our pet foods. Fungal Infestations of Skin These appear as small to large lesions on the skin with patches where hair loss appears. they are typically white patches with no inflamation present. I apply undilluted tea tree oil to the regions affected once per day until patches disappear. Do not put tea tree oil near nose, eyes, genital, rectal area in an undilluted state. It is very irritating and cause inflamation to mucosal tissue. 2. STOMATITIS OR INFLAMMATION OF THE ORAL CAVITY AND COMPOUND O by Eric Weisman
The following procedure is exactly the same procedure I have used in this condition with small animals. I am not telling you to perform this procedure with your Dog, Cat or Ferret. Because of prevailing Laws, the following procedure can not a cure, treatment, diagnosis or prevention for any disease. This procedure has not been evaluated by the FDA. Eric Weisman is not a veterinarian or physician. Acute and / or Chronic Inflammation of the mouth and gum tissue of a Cat, Dog or Ferret can present a serious challenge to the most competent veterinarian. In fact, I have found conventional veterinary procedures often can not effectively treat this disease. Part of the difficulty is that the common steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like Prednisone have there own damaging effects on the immune system that is already in a state of dysfunction in these types of cases. The antibiotics that are typically used only address the bacterial necrosis or tissue death bacteria that in my perspective occur as a result of the underlying autoimmune syndrome that may be responsible for inflammation of the oral cavity. In other words, because bacteria may not be involved in the cause of this syndrome: Antibiotics may have little if any positive effect. This disease may spiral out of control and cause severe difficulty for the Pet and the Human Caretaker to say the very least. This formidable disorder can not only result in prolonged suffering of the patient, but also difficulty eating, weight loss, anorexia and premature death. The caretaker and subject are forced to deal with foul odor of the mouth and the reality of chronic pain and disfigurement. This condition may also be linked to uremia (urine in the blood stream from abnormal kidney function), heavy metal poisoning, viral infections (in cats it may have much to do with respiratory infections, mycotic or fungal infections as a result of Candida albicans, diabetes mellitus, and thermal or chemical burns. The difficulty is that Stomatitis (Inflammation of the Oral Cavity) presents various physiological mechanisms linked to this disorder that may also involve feline leukemia virus (FeLV) infection and reduction of the immune system function. Stomatitis and ulcers may occur together on the oral mucous membranes and tongue. The cause of the disease may also be linked to toxins in the everyday pet food being fed, drinking water, household chemicals, cleaning agents, lawn chemicals and other environmental pathogens (disease causing entities). The above agents may not cause problems in most pets, but in the ones that have this type of autoimmune related disorder, the toxins in these substances can not be properly disposed of or neutralized by the endocrine or immune system. I start this procedure with a test combining common veterinary prescribed Amoxicillin, Clindamycin or Astralgus Herb Powder (in an increased but similar dose to conventional antibiotics of 100 mg / 2 times per day for every 10 pounds of body weight) to address bacterial infection that may be part of this disease.
Compound O
I administer a separate dose of Compound O by mixing Fresh Frozen Human Grade Organic High Omega 3 Fatty Acid Flax Seed Oil (I keep Flax Oil in the Freezer to prevent Oxidation of Omega 3 which is easily oxidized at room temperature) with these other components (based on daily use for every ten pounds of body weight) : 3 Tablespoons Flax Oil, ½ teaspoon Human Use Pharmaceutical Grade Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) Powder, 1 level teaspoon Calcium Citrate Powder or 700 mg. I use 3 tablespoons Flax Oil mixed with 1/2 level teaspoon of Ascorbic Acid or 2.25 grams and 1 level teaspoon of Calcium Citrate Powder, 1 Capsule or 450 mg Noni Powder (Morinda Citrafolia Powder - not in diluted Liquid) and 1 Capsule Ecogreen Multi (Human Grade Vegan Multi Vitamin-Mineral-Botanical Capsule with Pro-Digestive Enzymes and No Iron content). To enhance the taste of this compound, I use one heaping teaspoon of Frozen Orange Juice Concentrate (no water added). Using common Amoxicillin or Clindamycin in the veterinary prescribed dose, I administer 5 cc – 6 cc of Compound O for every 10 pounds of body weight 2 times per day. If this program eliminates the inflammation, I continue the procedure with the Compound O for 5 days after the condition is resolved. I stop the procedure for about 5 – 10 days. If the condition comes back, I restart the procedure with Compound O only and see if that addresses the problem by itself without the antibiotic. If it is necessary to continue this procedure indefinitely to stabilize the subject, I continue to do so for the duration of the animal's life. To make administration of Compound O easier, I take a plastic margarine container and top and mix enough of the measured ingredients for several days to 1 - 2 months of use depending on the size of the patient. I keep the Compound O frozen until I use it. To make this procedure easier, I separate the Compound O into a large ice tray or two. Each day, I remove the required amount of Compound O and "warm it up in a refrigerator." Dogs, Cats and Ferrets do not like freezing temperature liquids being forced down their throats, so I warm the compound before use. I administer the liquid using a 1 cc eyedropper (with the narrow tip cut off for Cats and Ferrets). I carefully cut all their claws before administration so that I do not get cut by the animal during force feeding. I place the animal on a high counter top and I hold them by their front legs nearest the body of the animal. I tilt their heads back with the eyedropper while gently forcing the Compound O into their mouth. I do this 3 times (3 cc) with a Ferret per dose and 6 times (6 cc)with a Cat per average dose. You may want to have someone else help you although it is not necessary. For Dogs, I usually use a larger wide tip plastic syringe (without the needle). I like to use at least a 10 cc syringe, because it requires less dipping in the compound for each administration. I hold the Dog by it's collar and face the animal during the administration. It helps when I talk to the Pet and tell the patient what a good girl or boy he or she is for taking the compound. This strategy saves a good amount of time and energy. If the above does not work, I use a more powerful procedure that involves the use of Compound C that I developed in 1998 and have used ever since. I will provide information about this compound in the next 2 weeks. We do not sell any human supplements in conjunction with any of our pet foods. 3. PERIODONTAL DISEASE or INFLAMATION of GUM TISSUE AROUND TEETH INCLUDING INFECTED TEETH, GINGIVITIS from my perspective I have found that infections of teeth and rootes below the gum line in Dogs, Cats and Ferrets is very much like humans in that they occur in episodes. The tooth or teeth themselves may appear white in color or yellowed and even brown, but the acute inflamation and odor that occurs with these conditions can be treated over the course of a few weeks with standard antibiotics like Amoxicillin or Clavamox in combination with compounds that myself and others have developed. I have gotten excellent results and the pets I have treated have not had to undergo extractions and accompanying anesthesia that can be fatal, especially in immune and liver failure compromised animals. I only feed only moist Evolution Diet Pet Foods and distilled Water to Animals suffering with this condition because it is more difficult, painful and potentially damaging for them to eat dry food with this type of conditon. After this condition starts, I would never feed hard dry food to the subject animal again unless it were for a late night small treat or after the episode appears to be entirely gone. I might add a little human grade canned tuna to the meal, canned broccolli cheese soup mix or parmesean cheese to the food to entice the sick animal to eat. I typically use Amoxicillin combined with and Leba 111 and the Compound T that I developed together with Flax Oil. Some of these conditions can appear very severe with bright red blood tinged tissue around the perimeter of one or two teeth, several teeth or the entire perimeter of the gums where the teeth attach to the jaw and gum tissue. The tissue may be friable or tender and bleed easily when you try to clean the area with a soft brush or even light rubbing of the fingertip against the teeth and gums. In an acute and severe case of inflamation of the gum tissue around the teeth, I use several different treatments at the same time. This is becuase the disease itself may well be occurring at many different levels at the same time. In this way I am treating the the outside tooth, inner tooth, the pulp, nerve and gum tissue around the tooth or teeth. I have combine Compound O procedure together ( the product in No. 2 above) with the standard antibiotic Amoxicillin 50 mg / 10 lbs body weight, 2 times per day. I mix the Amoxicillin with Glutathione 100 mg. capsules (5 mg / 10 lb body weight each, 2 x each day). I also administer 3 eyedroppers full of compound O above, 2 times per day with Leba 111 spray to the inner oral cavity; 2 sprinkles in the mouth with the Compound T I developed. The tooth or teeth and gum tissue of these sick animals may look and smell much worse then they really are from a treatment perspective. When I apply these compounds to the mouth of the subject animal, I make sure that he or she will not bite me by securing the animal's position with my free hand while I use the other for a to hold and dip the 1 cc eyedroper into the different Bio Tech testing small and tooth in the entire mouth of the subject. I have had very good success with these types of cases with in a one to two week time frame. The inflamation and even most of the loose teeth usually improve quite substntially (but not always). I have found that this combination of compounds procedure usually rids of the pain, inflamation and periodontal disease very rapidly. The other big advantage is that I do not have to subject the animal to anesthesia, and have a tooth or teeth extracted. I have found that even a severe infection disappears within 1-2 weeks . The infection may come back several months later, but for the meantime it may disapear completely and this is what I have found in many cats and dogs over a 15 year period. MY DAILY REGIME WITH DOGS, CATS, FERRETS ONCE ACUTE INFLAMATORY & PAIN CONDITION SUBSIDE I keep the mouth of the animal cleaned preferably with a very soft children's tooth brush with a small amount of our Compound T and / or Leba 111. I find our Compound O plus a small drop of Tea Tree Oil on the soft tooth brush does a great job of keeping the teeth, and smelling fresh. I have found Leba 111 also works, but not as well. I often use only a small amount of our Compound T ( about 1/32nd Tspn for a Ferret, about 1/16th Tspn for a Cat, about 1/8 Tspn for a Small Dog, about 1/4 Tspn on a brush for a large Dog ) with a tiny drop of Tea Tree Oil from a 1 cc eyedropper: I find it helps keep the mouth and gums very clean. I never use more then a tiny drop of Tea Tree Oil because of it's toxicity. CAUTION: I do not use Tea Tree Oil in Ferret Mouths because they are so small.
URINARY TRACT INFECTION AND DISEASE & CLEANING SURFACES TO PREVENT IT If a Dog, Cat or Ferret is trying to urinate and can not, take the animal to a veterinary clinic immediately. Do not wait. Never wait for this disease to progress. This disorder happens most frequently in Cats. The first sign is straining to urinate. Once an animal blocks up, the results can be rapidly fatal. If the Dog, Cat or Ferret are straining to urinate, but still urinating with or without blood, I start the following procedure immediately. If I were not experienced, like most of the people reading this document, I would still go and seek the advice of a veterinarian because if total blockage occurs, the animal can die very quickly from urine backing up into the blood stream. The disease physiology or how urinary tract disease develops has much to with the anatomical structure, behavior, food and water that Cats, Dogs and Ferrets consume. The Actual Cause of Urinary Tract Disease and Anatomical Structure From my perspective: The most common underlying problem with Dogs, Cats and Ferrets is that they sit or lay on their genital orifices or sexual structures. This predisposes these animals to urinary tract infection and failure. Cats often squat in their Cat Boxes, sit or lay on floors and counter tops that are contaminated with various bacteria and viruses. The direct contact to these surfaces allows a portal of entry for foreign organisms to attack the structures of the urinary tract. The best defense is keeping floors, countertops and Cat Boxes clean and using a clean moistened pet food like Evolution Diet moistened dry kibble or Evolution Diet soft moist canned food. Of course unclean Pet Food and tap water can also be a contributing factors, because fecal organisms like ecoli from pet food can also infect a Dog, Cat or Ferret with Urinary Tract Disease. Tap water can contain high mineral content and this can be a contributing factor, but not usually a causative factor. I always use distilled water with urinary tract infected animals both during and after infection because of the fact that distilled water has no mineral content to block the urinary tract. In my experience with Evolution Diet, bacterial food contamination has not been a problem since our products are the cleanest or amongst the cleanest in the industry. Urinary Tract Infection and Crystal Formation is a very serious disease and can cause rapid death if total blockage of the Urinary Tract occurs. Again, this is not a disease that you should ever consider waiting to do something about. I have used Evolution Diet successfully in the most severe cases of urinary tract infection. I do not use prescription diets because they contain so many animal byproducts and may contain diseased animals and parts. I do follow all the other recommendations of veterinarians. I fed Evolution Diet, but only in the moist form and again I always follow the vet’s other recommendations. I always add one part distilled water to one part dry Evolution Gourmet Fondue or Gourmet Pasta and wait 15 – 30 minutes for the water to soak into the kibble. Again, if your Dog, Cat or Ferret Urinary Tract is blocked, your veterinarian should recommend immediate catheterization. I urge that you make sure that this is done carefully and quickly. Make sure that the veterinarian does not wait to catheterize the animal ( putting a small thin tube into the Male Penis or Orifice of the Female. Sometimes just waiting anytime can result in death of the animal once complete blockage occurs. We do not sell any human supplements in conjunction with any of our pet foods. CLEANING SURFACES, CAT AND FERRET BOXES TO PREVENT URINARY TRACT DISEASE The surface cleaner, Eric’s Surface Cleaner Anti-Bacterial, Anti Virus Spray Compound, I developed is a mix in a spray bottle. It is made up of 30 oz. of water, 1.5 oz Bleach, 5 drops Povidone Iodine, 32 drops Tea Tree Oil. I spray surfaces where Cats sit on counters 1 - 2 times per day and I make sure that spray residue is removed with a soapy water and a sponge after 2 minutes. If you think this spray is too toxic use Eric’s Plain White Vinegar + Tea Tree Oil Spray. I have found that to be very effective and lower in toxicity then Eric’s Surface Cleaner. I spray Cat Litter Boxes 1-2 times per day with Eric's Plain White Vinegar in a 32 oz. spray bottle + 32 Drops Tea Tree Oil. I fill the 32 oz. Spray Bottle with plain vinegar and the 32 drops of Tea Tree Oil only. This compound is a very safe for Cats, Ferrets, Dogs and the environment and it is a very effective bacterial toxin. I use only plain clay litter. It is the least expensive and safest for Cats and Ferrets because it has no cancer producing chemicals or glues. After removing fecal matter and urine wetted litter out of the box. I do not bother removing dry litter, even when it has been touched by feces, because the Plain Vinegar- Tea Tree Oil spray cleaner will destroy most of the germs. Again, this saves litter and environment. I only use plain clay non-chemically treated litter. It is the least expensive litter and I have found it to be the safest in terms of reducing cancer risk (because it does not have harsh petrochemical based scents, bacterial and viral toxins. Cats and Ferrets like to swipe their mouths and faces with their paws after using the litter box, so they accidentally expose themselves to the chemicals found in chemical litters. I have found this increases the risk of oral cancers and chronic inflammation of the mouth in Cats and Ferrets. Of course, Eric’s Surface Cleaner Compound also has some toxic effect, but it is necessary to use an effective cleaner for prevention of disease in Cat-Ferret Boxes, floors, bedding and counters. Remember to rinse countertops and floors with plain water after using Eric’s Compound to pick up the chemical residue. What I do when Cats, Ferrets or Dogs Get Urinary Tract Infection and / or Crystal Formation in the Bladder or Kidney Stones Another Warning: If you have a Dog, Cat or Ferret that has stopped urinating for any reason: Take it to a Veterinary Clinic for immediate catheterization. Do not wait! Again, if the Dog, Cat or Ferret is squatting repeatedly and not urinating, I urge that you take it to a veterinarian immediately to get treated. These animals can die very rapidly when they can not rid of their urine. With Urinary Tract Infection with or without blockage, I immediately start using our Compound T with cold Organic Flax Seed Oil or Uva Ursi and cold Flax Seed Oil. I also use the antibiotic “Clavamox” or diluted “Amoxiclav” pills (2 x 500 mg) with 9 ml of water or amoxacillin (2 x 500 mg with 500 mg Vitamin C Powder for acidity) in a small eyedropper bottle. You can usually buy this product from a veterinarian for about $15 - $30.00 per bottle. The vet I use sells the Clavamox to me without seeing the animal, but many vets will not sell you this product without seeing the animal for an evaluation charge. When I want to save money, I simply use 2 – 500 mg pills of my own prescription “Amoxiclav” or "Amoxacillin" 500 mg + 500 mg Vit. C and mix caps with 19 ml of water. This antibiotic is a combination of amoxicillin and clavic acid that tends to decrease the pH of urine. I use 50 mg of this antibiotic 2 times per day for the average Cat of about ten pound. I can not tell you what to do, but this is what I do. Your veterinarian may suggest another more powerful antibiotic then the one mentioned above. I suggest you follow his instructions regarding type of antibiotic to use because this is a very serious and live threatening disease. In addition to what the veterinarian suggests, I always use Uva Ursi powder 500 mg / 10 lb. mixed with our Organic High Omega 3 Flax Oil 2 – 3 tablespoons / day to reduce or prevent additional crystal formation. As a substitute for plain Uva Ursi, I may also use Uva Ursi mixed with Saw Palmetto or our Compound Tin the amount of about 500 mg per day for a ten pound Cat given in two separate 250 mg doses with the veterinarian’s antibiotic at the same time. Again, I always use 2 tablespoons to 3 tablespoons of Fresh Organic Flax Oil for reducing inflammation of the Urinary Tract. I keep my Flax Oil refrigerated or frozen until I use it. Flax Oil thaws very quickly, but it is uncomfortable to the animal to give a very cold substance, so I let it sit in refrigerator for 5 – 10 minutes before I administer it with an eyedropper. The Uva Ursi, Saw Palmetto Powder tends to dissolve the urinary crystals that sometimes form in the bladder and urine from coming out of the urethra. This powder also tends to dissolve Kidney Stones when given with adequate distilled water. Remember that I only use Uva Ursi for a maximum time of about 2 -3 weeks because it does have toxicity for cats, dogs and ferrets. I have found that it usually does a complete job of reducing stones and crystals and related behavior by that time. We do not sell any human supplements in conjunction with any of our pet foods.
